Replacement of the old school product book

Retail chain SPAR organizes a trade fair for its suppliers and customers once a year where SPAR retailers can purchase products from the (new) range of suppliers.

A paper product book was its predecessor and due for a digital replacement to speed up the ordering process and its efficiency.

Digital orders

Taste products, get some inspiration and when you like something: pass the order digitally and directly to the retailer.

Native iPad application

Based on the global requirements of Extendas, we designed and developed an iPad application for a functional and clear ordering procedure. The UI/UX design has an important role in this. The customer himself was responsible for developing the backend. The iPad that contains the application is handed out to the exhibitors during the trade fair and can be used throughout the fair to keep track of orders and deliveries from retailers.

Automatic synchronization

Due to the large size of the trade fair, it was important that the app supports multiple users at the same time. The app also works offline if there is no proper internet connection and orders automatically synchronize as soon as the network connection recovers. For suppliers and SPAR, it’s possible to log in and keep track of statistics and data.

Successful in use

The application is launched successfully and is used during every annual SPAR fair. The customer was enthusiastic about how the application simplifies the ordering process and can be used at any trade fair without applying major changes. We monitor the market for any new developments.
